WKU hosting farm to campus convergence Feb. 22-23

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Feb. 12, 2013) — WKU Americans for Informed Democracy will host two events Feb. 22-23 as part of the first Farm to Campus Convergence at Western Kentucky University’s Faculty House.

The Farm to Campus Convergence will welcome local farmers, students and community members to WKU on Feb. 23.

The Farm to Campus Convergence will welcome local farmers, students and community members to WKU on Feb. 23 for the Real Food Challenge workshops on local and sustainable food as well as the effective organization/coordination of local foods on campus.

The event will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The conference is free and open to the public, and WKU AID has invited students from the Kentucky and Tennessee area.

The Farm to Campus Convergence will kick off on Feb. 22 with the 100-Mile Dinner at 6 p.m. at the Faculty House. With the help of local chef Josh Polling of HOME Café, WKU AID and other student volunteers will prepare food produced within 100 miles of Bowling Green. The dinner is free and open to the public.
