COVINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 15, 2013) – The interim dean of the University of Louisville School of Medicine will lead a discussion of the business of medical practice and highlight collaborations with UofL’s College of Business at a Fireside Conversation hosted by the UofL Alumni Association in Covington, Ky.
Toni Ganzel, M.D., will be joined by two faculty members at the event, set for 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Metropolitan Club, 50 E. River Center Blvd. in Covington. Admission is free.
Ganzel and the group will provide information on the interface between business and medicine, discussing the need for physicians to be business savvy in managing their medical practices. The presenters also will highlight ways in which the UofL School of Medicine and the UofL College of Business collaborate in teaching and training medical professionals.
Speaking will be:
- Toni Ganzel, M.D., M.B.A., interim dean of the UofL School of Medicine
- In K. Kim, M.D., M.B.A., assistant professor of pediatrics specializing in pediatric emergency medicine
- Brad S. Sutton, M.D., M.B.A., assistant professor of medicine specializing in cardiac electrophysiology
- Mickey Ising, second-year medical student in the UofL School of Medicine who holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in bioengineering

The informal event will feature a meet-and-greet reception followed by a short presentation from Ganzel and conclude with a question-and-answer session.
