FetterGroup completes sale of paint and coatings label business

Company to expand focus on personalized print products

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 11, 2013) — Label manufacturer Fort Dearborn Co. has acquired the paint and coatings business of FetterGroup, a 125-year-old Louisville printing and manufacturing company.

“The acquisition is a logical fit for Fort Dearborn Co. and reinforces our commitment to the paint and coatings label market,” said Jeff Brezek, chief executive officer of Illinois-based Fort Dearborn, which is one of the largest suppliers of cut and stack labels in North America. The company also produces pressure-sensitive, roll-fed and shrink-sleeve labels.

The sale enables FetterGroup to expand its focus on the high-growth business of personalized smartphone cases as well as personalized glass, posters, postcards and stickers.

Since launching the surface decorating division in 2010, FetterGroup has quietly become one of the largest providers of customized mobile phone cases in the nation.
