Moonshine University offers bourbon-themed Kentucky Derby entertaining class

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 13, 2013) — On Saturday, April 13, Moonshine University at Distilled Spirits Epicenter will conduct a two hour “Out of the Gate!” course on Derby entertaining starring Kentucky’s signature spirit, bourbon.

bourbon glassFrom the history of the mint julep to bourbon-spirited recipes from the Junior League of Louisville, the afternoon’s curriculum will encompass bourbon’s heritage and culinary applications. “Out of the Gate!” offers the ultimate guide to Kentucky Derby entertaining with bourbon. The class is designed to show how to plan and execute a bourbon-themed Derby party, Oaks Day Brunch or a reception to entertain out of town guests and show off your bourbon knowledge. Moonshine University’s in-house bourbon connoisseur Colin Blake will demonstrate cocktails and present a segment on in-home track-themed games. Appetizers from the Derby Party menu in the Junior League of Louisville’s newest cookbook Bluegrass Gatherings will be served. The class will also include a tour of Moonshine University’s working distillery.
