Governor makes appointment to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 1, 2013) – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Education:

Trevor R. Bonnstetter, of Mayfield, is CEO at West Kentucky Rural Telephone. He represents members at large. The appointment replaces Dorothy Z. Combs, whose term has expired. Bonnstetter shall serve for a term expiring April 14, 2016.

Grayson R. Boyd, of Williamsport, is a retired educator. He represents the 7th Supreme Court District. The appointment replaces Martha M. Jones, who has resigned. Boyd shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending April 14, 2014.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Joe E. Ellis to the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education to serve for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2018.

Joe E. Ellis, of Benton, is an optometrist. The appointment replaces Lisa Osborne, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Pam Miller to the council to serve for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2018.

Pam Miller, of Lexington, is a former mayor of Lexington.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Dana B. Mayton to the Kentucky Public Transportation Infrastructure Authority to serve for a term expiring Oct. 1, 2016.

Dana B. Mayton, of Shelbyville, is senior associate vice president for government relations at the University of Louisville. She represents citizens at large. The appointment replaces Laura M. Douglas, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Don C. Kelly to the authority to serve for a term expiring Oct. 1, 2016.

Don C. Kelly, of Lexington, is a civil engineer. He represents citizens at large.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Jay S. Grider to the State Board of Medical Licensure to serve for a term expiring Aug. 31, 2015.

Jay S. Grider, of Lexington, is a physician at the University of Kentucky. He represents licensed medical physicians. The appointment replaces Susan M. Berberich, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the board:

Randel C. Gibson, of Mayfield, is a physician. He represents the Kentucky Osteopathic Association. Gibson shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 31, 2015.

Tamella Buss Cassis, of Prospect, is a dermatologist. She represents licensed medical physicians. Cassis shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 31, 2016.

Preston P. Nunnelley, of Lexington, is chief medical officer and vice president at Central Baptist Hospital. He represents licensed medical physicians. Nunnelley shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 31, 2016.

Thangam Rangaswamy, of Louisville, is a self-employed structural engineer. He represents consumer members. Rangaswamy shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 31, 2016.

 

Gov. Beshear has appointed Zachary Combs Weinberg as Knott County judge-executive.

 Zachary Combs Weinberg, of Emmalena, is vice president of operations for Hayden Harper Energy KA. The appointment replaces Randall Thompson.
