LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 2, 2013) – The Kentucky Proud Incredible Food Show will return to Rupp Arena and Lexington Center on Saturday, Oct. 26, offering a full day of cooking demonstrations, food sampling and educational opportunities for the home chef.

Featured at this year’s show will be Jamie and Bobby Deen, of the Food Network and the Cooking Channel. The Deen Bros. will serve up two cooking presentations in Rupp Arena at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The Deen Bros. – along with their mother, Paula Deen – founded a small Savannah, Ga., catering business known for delivering “lunch-and-love-in-a-bag.” The business eventually grew into one of Savannah’s most loved restaurants, The Lady & Sons. The Deen Bros. have published four cookbooks together and Bobby’s cookbook, “From Mama’s Table to Mine,” debuted at No. 1 on The New York Times best-seller list. In September, Jamie will release a new cookbook entitled, “Jamie Deen’s Good Food.”

A big draw to the show each year is The Marketplace, which includes more than 120 exhibitors. The Marketplace brings local food-based companies together under one roof to showcase and sell their products directly to the consumer. In addition to the exhibitors, The Marketplace features a Kentucky wineries area, Restaurant Row, Kid’s Craft Café and the hugely popular Quick Tips Booth.

Sullivan University returns to the stage with demonstrations throughout the day featuring locally sourced ingredients and regional chefs. The popular seminar series will return with topics that will pique the interest of aspiring home chefs and food lovers.

“The IFS is a wonderful opportunity to connect Kentucky Proud members with consumers, buyers, chefs and anyone who’s interested in local food,” said Agriculture Commissioner James Comer. “This has become the biggest event of the year for Kentucky food lovers and a great way to meet with a wide variety of producers, retailers, restaurants, and wineries all under one roof.”

Tickets go on sale June 7 at the Lexington Center Ticket Office and all Ticketmaster outlets.
