The Greater Louisville Association of Realtors® (GLAR) released April 2013 statistics which showed a 23 percent increase in the number of homes sold in April 2013 (1,300) versus April 2012 (1,054) and a 41 percent increase compared to April 2011 (921).
Home sales prices are relatively stable, with the year-to-date figures up 1-2 percent compared to last year and the monthly averages down slightly due to the mix of homes sold. Inventory levels are about the same as a year ago, but members are reporting an increase in sales where multiple offers are received.
“Properties that are priced competitively and are also move-in ready are selling in less than 30 days,” GLAR President Paul Ogden said. “Homes that are not as attractively priced and staged are typically on the market for 3-6 months or more.”
