LOUISVILLE (June 3, 2013) —Network of Entrepreneurial Women will celebrates its second anniversary with a showcase of local, women-owned businesses 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at The Foundry at Glassworks, located at 815 W. Market St. in Louisville.
Keynote speaker Carla Dearing will share her experiences as managing director and CEO of IMC, a full-service global agency specializing in strategic partnerships that help its clients make connections and partnerships across a wide range of manufacturers, licensors and retailers.
Dawne Gee of WAVE 3 will emcee.
There will be treats from The Black Italian, The Catering Company and a special new drink from Maker’s Mark. Additional sponsors include Strothman & Co, Wells Fargo Insurance Services, BFW, Inc, Seiller Waterman LLC, Louisville Metro, and Splendid Events LLC.
“We’ve grown significantly over the last two years. Attendance at our free monthly events has more than doubled and our email list has reached almost 400 subscribers. The events feature topics and speakers designed to help women who are in the idea or planning stages of starting a business or wish to grow their business. It’s an opportunity to access women who have been successfully involved in business for many years,” says NEW Chairwoman Lynn R. Cooper, who is the CEO of BFW Inc., a Louisville-based surgical lighting company.
“Our events take place at various Louisville venues with topics that have included; how to find funding for a start-up, social media, international commerce, exporting, intellectual property, and public speaking.” Cooper added. “Each event offers a Q&A opportunity with experienced women entrepreneurs while we enjoy some wine and hors d’oeuvres.”

NEW is a grassroots organization of local woman business owners offering support towards the entrepreneurial success of women through education, mentoring, encouragement, networking, relationship building and communication. There is no membership fee.
