Louisville, Ky. (June 3, 2013) – The general entry deadline for all categories of the 2013 Kentucky State Fair competitions is Monday, July 1, and must be postmarked by this date.
All entries can be made online now by visiting www.kystatefair.org and filling out the online entry form. Forms are also available as a PDF and can be mailed once completed. Late general entries will be accepted, with an additional fee, until Wednesday, July 10.
The entry deadline for Open and 4-H/FFA Youth Livestock as well as Pigeon and Poultry is July 10. Rabbit applications are due July 18. Late entries for open livestock, with an additional fee, are due July 25. Extra late open livestock, with an additional fee, are due August 5.
Last year more than 50,000 entries were judged in categories such as fine arts, crafts and agriculture and with new classes being offered this year, there will be something for everyone. General entries include more than 30 departments of almost anything that can be baked, made, grown and sewn.
The Kentucky State Fair Premium Book has information about rules, prizes and drop-off deadlines specific to individual categories, as some entries are judged before the Fair. It can be found online at kystatefair.org/entries/premiumBook.aspx or can be mailed upon request by contacting the entry department at [email protected] or (502) 367-5190. The 109th Kentucky State Fair is August 15-25.
