LOUISVILLE, Ky., June 4, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), the nation’s third-largest faith-based health system that encompasses KentuckyOne Health, has begun the rollout of FacilityONE’s Facility Information Solution to 19 of its hospitals, representing the first phase of the rollout to the CHI network of hospitals across 17 states.
Following a national search for a facility management solution — commonly referred to as: Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), Computer Assisted Facility Management solution (CAFM), and Enterprise Asset Management solution (EAM) — Englewood, Colo.-based CHI determined that the web-based facility management software provided by FacilityONE, which is delivered through cloud technology, offered the greatest scalability and flexibility in accomplishing its goals.
KentuckyOne Health formed in 2011 and includes Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare; the Saint Joseph Health System; University of Louisville Hospital and James Graham Brown Cancer Center. It includes 16 hospitals and more than 200 total facilities with roughly 18,000 employees and 3,000 physicians.
Dale Cain, chief executive officer of FacilityONE, said, “Once we were able to fully engage with CHI, they saw how powerful our solution is and the depth at which we can capture all of the various asset and systems information that exist within the walls of a hospital.”
Skip Smith, of CHI, said, “Our organization is so geographically diverse that the web-based cloud technology offered by FacilityONE was a clear choice. Through their delivery technique, we will be much more efficient and CHI will be able to collaborate on facility management issues much more effectively. We have the added benefit of having all of our facility information at our fingertips without any additional investment or strain on our IT budget because of the cloud technology.”
Catholic Health Initiatives is a national nonprofit health system with headquarters in Englewood, Colo. The faith-based system operates in 17 states and includes 80 hospitals; 40 long-term care, assisted- and residential-living facilities; two community health-services organizations; two accredited nursing colleges; and home health agencies.
