In 2012, the state-of-the-art venue ranked 31st in the nation and 65th in the world for non-sporting event ticket sales. In the 2013 mid-year rankings, the Yum Center jumped to 14thin the nation and 39th in the world. This places the center ahead of venues in considerably larger markets, including Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dallas and Phoenix.

Pollstar Magazine bills itself as the only trade publication covering the worldwide concert industry.

The Yum Center hosted seven of the top 10 tours in the world, including Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Bieber, P!nk, Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac and, coming this December, Beyonce. The high level of success that each of the shows achieves at the KFC Yum Center allows Louisville to attract highly sought after artists.

Along the way, the KFC Yum Center has received praise from industry professionals who comment on the arena’s physical offerings and its highly capable staff, said Dennis Petrullo, general manager of the arena. He is proud to see the KFC Yum! Center moving ahead in the rankings and wants to see the success continue, he said.

“This ranking’s jump for the KFC Yum! Center just solidifies that AEG is accomplishing the mission we set when taking over management of the building, to make this arena one of the most successful and widely recognized in the country,” Petrullo said. “Our staff will continue to book great acts and provide the best possible entertainment experience for our patrons for many years to come.”
