Event continues through Aug. 3

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 26, 2013) — Beyond Grits: Lexington Restaurant Week is in full swing, and more than 40 local restaurants are offering multi-course dinners and chef’s specials. Some are even offering dining for two for $25.

The inaugural restaurant week, which began Thursday and continues through Aug. 3, is designed to help solidify Lexington as a culinary destination for visitors, according to the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Beyond Grits will encourage visitor and locals alike to discover restaurants they have not tried and to stimulate business and revenue for restaurants throughout Fayette County.

From French bistros to gastropubs, all types of restaurants are participating in Lexington Restaurant Week. There are no coupons or tickets to purchase or download. Restaurants will offer a special $25 fixed price dinner dining experience, excluding taxes, drinks and gratuity, in addition to their regular menus. The week will focus on the culinary artistry of Lexington’s most talented chefs.

“This is a great opportunity to sample from the menus of some of Lexington’s most celebrated restaurants,” said Jim Browder, president of the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau. “It is past time for Lexington to showcase its burgeoning restaurant community to visitors and we are excited to host this inaugural event.”

Reservations are encouraged.
