Peavler hired to lead Business & Education Network in central Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct 4, 2013) – Billie Peavler has been named the new executive director of the Business & Education Network (BEN), a subsidiary of Commerce Lexington Inc. that is charged with assisting efforts to close the workforce skills gap in the Central Kentucky Region.

Before coming to Commerce Lexington Inc., Peavler spent 24 years with Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky Inc. Along with her manufacturing background, she brings with her a wide range of skills and experience, including strategic planning, training systems development, workforce skill improvement, diversity & inclusion initiatives and project management.  Billie is also certified in ADKAR Change Management.

“Throughout the selection process, the BEN Board sought a person with special qualities that could truly bring the work environment and the educational institutions together, creating a pipeline of talent to fill the vacancies of our workforce today and tomorrow,” said Business and Education Network Board Chair James Hardin, coordinator of Career and Technical Education for Fayette County Public Schools. “Billie brings those essential skills to BEN, and with her leadership and energy, our network can proceed vigorously into the competitive global environment.”

Peavler is a graduate of Midway College and holds a bachelor of srts degree in Organizational Management & Leadership. In her spare time, she enjoys various sporting events and reading.

Peavler resides in Lexington with her son, Garrett.
