Arronco installing geothermal wells at Henry Clay Estate

Ashland
Ashland, the Henry Clay Estate, is located near downtown Lexington.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 21, 2013) — On Oct. 28, Arronco Comfort Air will begin drilling geothermal wells at Ashland, the estate of the well-known statesman Henry Clay, as part of the estate’s ongoing green initiative.

It is estimated that Ashland will save more than 45 percent of its total energy usage by making the move to a geothermal heating and air conditioning system. Because of the historic nature of the job site, special considerations and technologies will be needed to maintain its integrity and to ensure that artifacts are protected, safeguarded and respected.

By tapping into the renewable energy stored in the ground, the Henry Clay Esate will be able to provide its visitors complete comfort all year long while minimalizing their utility costs. Geothermal heating and cooling is both safe and environmentally friendly. Because geothermal systems do not burn fossil fuels for heat production, they generate fewer greenhouse gas emissions and provide higher air quality because there are no emissions of carbon monoxide.
