Scotty’s Contracting and Stone gets $11.4 million Western Kentucky Parkway job
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov.13, 2013) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has awarded more than $36 million in projects for pavement rehabilitation on four major Kentucky roadways.
The largest award and most extensive project involves the removal and replacement of a portion of the concrete slabs along a 20-mile section of Interstate 65 in Bullitt County (mile point 103.1 to 123.4). The $20.76 million project was awarded to Hall Contracting of Kentucky Inc. The target completion date is Nov. 30, 2014.
“I-65 is one of the most heavily traveled corridors in Kentucky and one of the most important for commerce and the motoring public,” KYTC Secretary Mike Hancock said. “This pavement rehabilitation project, along with the others being announced today, will help protect and maintain a substantial public investment and asset.”
Other projects include:
• McCracken County – U.S. 60X repair and diamond grind concrete pavement from mile point 0 to 0.9. Harper Construction LLC was awarded the contract for $701,100. Completion date: May 15, 2014.
• Grayson County – Western Kentucky Parkway mill and thin asphalt overlay from mile point 95 to 100.25 westbound and from mile point 100.25 to 106 in both directions. Scotty’s Contracting and Stone LLC was awarded the contract for $11.41 million. Completion date: Oct. 1, 2014.
• Bath and Montgomery counties – I-64 mill and thin asphalt overlay from mile point 112.3 to 117.8, a distance of 5.5 miles. Mac Construction & Excavating Inc. was awarded the contract for $3.94 million. Completion date: July 31, 2014.
