Humana’s LifeSynch subsidiary offers assistance program to people impacted by recent tornadoes

LOUISVILLE, Ky.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced today that LifeSynch, its behavioral health and behavior change subsidiary, will offer the same telephonic counseling currently available to members (through the employee assistance program and work-life services administered by LifeSynch) to any resident of Kentucky, Indiana or Ohio who was impacted by the recent tornadoes. Residents who are not Humana members and Humana members who don’t currently have an EAP benefit will have access to these services for as long as needed to assist with their recovery related to the tornadoes.

“That counselor can also connect you to community resources and professional services that will make getting through this difficult time a little easier.”
“Humana has nearly 13,500 associates living and working in this region, so the people impacted by these tornadoes are our neighbors, our family, our friends,” said Larry Savage, CEO of Commercial Operations in Humana’s Midwest Region. “We’re here to support them through this challenging time because it’s the right thing to do for the well-being of our community.”

Residents can call the toll-free number 1-866-440-6556, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to speak with one of LifeSynch’s master’s-level behavioral health specialists. The telephone consultation is confidential, free of charge, and open to anyone needing help as a result of the storms.

“When you call, you’re going to receive personalized, one-on-one assistance from a counselor who can help you cope with the stress, anxiety and grief caused by natural disasters,” said Sean Slovenski, President of LifeSynch. “That counselor can also connect you to community resources and professional services that will make getting through this difficult time a little easier.”

In addition to the telephonic support, there are more resources and information available online at www.humana.com/eap. Residents should use “eapt” for both the user ID and password to access the site.
