Governor makes appointments to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 10, 2014) – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education:

on the boards·         Jill Lynn Adelson, of Louisville, is a professor at the University of Louisville. She represents postsecondary education. The appointment replaces Julia L. Roberts, whose term has expired. Adelson shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2016.

·         Edward R. Amend, of Lexington, is a psychologist at Amend Psychological Services PSC. He represents parents. The appointment replaces Margaret B. Gatten, whose term has expired. Amend shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2016.

·         Michael Brian Gupton, of Louisville, is CEO of Kentucky Dataseam Initiative Inc. He represents the private business sector. The appointment replaces Bryan D. Regenauer, whose term has expired. Gupton shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2016.

·         Mary Elizabeth Brock, of Richmond, is a member of the Madison County Board of Education and is a registered nurse at Integrity IT. She represents local boards of education. The appointment replaces Felix O. Akojie, whose term has expired. Brock shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2016.

·         Jonathan E. Jett, of Hazard, is superintendent for the Perry County Board of Education. He represents superintendents. The appointment replaces Lu S. Young, whose term has expired. Jett shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2016.

·         Robin M. Thacker, of Henderson, is a teacher for Henderson County Schools. She represents high school teachers. The appointment replaces Michelle Dawn Lustenberg, whose term has expired. Thacker shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2016.

·         Opal Davis Dawson, of Louisville, is principal at John F. Kennedy Montessori Elementary School. The appointment replaces Robin M. Thacker, whose term has expired. Dawson shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2016.

·         Deena D. Jones, of Lexington, is a gifted program facilitator at Fayette County Public Schools. She represents gifted and talented program coordinators. The appointment replaces Josie L. Pickerill, who has resigned. Jones shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Dec. 15, 2015.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Charlotte L. Jones to the council to serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2016.

·         Charlotte L. Jones, of Mount Sterling, is a teacher at Montgomery County High School. She represents gifted and talented program coordinators.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Bluegrass Community and Technical College Nominating Commission:

·         Robert A. Sarver II, of Lawrenceburg, is a retired certified guidance counselor. The appointment replaces Judith B. Puckett, whose term has expired. Sarver shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2016.

·         James D. Oney, of Lawrenceburg, is a counselor at Anderson County Middle School. The appointment replaces Michael S. Mattingly, whose term has expired. Oney shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2017.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Rhonda R. Trautman to the Center for Renewable Energy Research and Environmental Stewardship Board to serve for a term expiring March 13, 2015.

·         Glasgow Mayor Rhonda R. Trautman represents local government. The appointment replaces Rachel P. Foster, whose term expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Larry C. Roberts to the Advisory Board for Veterans’ Affairs to serve for a term expiring Sept. 25, 2016.

·         Larry C. Roberts, of Banner, is a disabled veteran. He represents Disabled American Veterans.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Charles A. Sharp to the Elevator Advisory Committee to serve for a term expiring July 1, 2016.

·         Charles A. Sharp, of Cox’s Creek, is a professor at the University of Louisville. He represents a company involved in the installation, maintenance and the repair of elevators.
 
Gov. Beshear has appointed Steven D. Tucker to the Kentucky Airport Zoning Commission to serve for a term expiring Feb. 8, 2018.  This order is effective Feb. 9, 2014.

·         Steven D. Tucker, of Louisville, is a civil engineer at Louisville Regional Airport Authority. The appointment replaces Jill D. Tiedt, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Brien F. Hill to the Kentucky Board of Licensure of Marriage and Family Therapists to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 15, 2016.

·         Brien F. Hill, of Florence, is a licensed marriage and family therapist at Tangvald MD & Associates. The appointment replaces Sandra L. Miller, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Jay P. Davidson to the KASPER Advisory Council to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Nov. 4, 2017.

·         Jay P. Davidson, of Louisville, is an alcohol and drug counselor, licensed clinical social worker and CEO at The Healing Place. He represents community mental health centers. The appointment replaces David B. Hayden, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College Board of Directors to serve for terms expiring Sept. 25, 2018.

·         Mary-Garnett Richey, of Scottsville, is a retired educator and office supply sales representative at Barren County Business Supply.

·         G. Michael Murphy, of Bowling Green, works at Scott, Murphy & Daniel.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Dewey L. Bocook Jr. to the Kentucky Oil and Gas Conservation Commission to serve for a term expiring Jan. 21, 2018.

·         Dewey L. Bocook Jr., of Paintsville, is an engineer at Bocook Engineering Inc. He represents residents of eastern Kentucky. The appointment replaces Stephen R. Harris, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Agriculture Water Quality Authority:

·         Allen Kyle, of Clinton, is a consultant at Technical Aspects. He represents citizens at large. The appointment replaces Rick Kamuf, whose term has expired. Kyle shall serve for a term expiring Oct. 1, 2017.

·         Warren F. Beeler, of Caneyville, represents the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, where he is director of agriculture policy. The appointment replaces Allen Kyle. Beeler shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Oct. 1, 2016.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the authority to serve for terms expiring Oct. 1, 2017:

·         Kimberly Richardson, of Frankfort, represents the Kentucky Division of Conservation, where she is director.

·         Leah W. MacSwords, of Frankfort, is Kentucky state forester and director, Division of Forestry. She represents the Division of Forestry.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Jennifer R. Roseberry as city councilperson for the City of California.

·         Jennifer R. Roseberry, of California, Ky., is a process assistant at Amazon.com.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 8th Judicial Circuit and District of Kentucky:

·         Gracie A. Hunt, of Oakland, is retired. The appointment replaces Kellie B. Lee, whose term has expired. Hunt shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2018.

·         Kim S. Dobler, of Bowling Green, is volunteer coordinator at Broadway United Methodist Church. The appointment replaces Robert H. Jenkins, whose term has expired. Dobler shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2016.

·         Travis C. Russell, of Bowling Green, is a banker and small business specialist at J.P. Morgan Chase Bank. The appointment replaces Douglas A. Frint, whose term has expired. Russell shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2016.

·         Larkin Ritter, of Bowling Green, is a contractor and developer with Scott & Ritter Inc. The appointment replaces Todd Davis, whose term has expired. Ritter shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2018.
