FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 4, 2014) – Governor Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
Gov. Beshear has reappointed G. Alan Long to the Eastern Kentucky University Board of Regents to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.
- G. Alan Long, of Richmond, is a certified public accountant at Baldwin CPAs PLLC.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Sara Elaine Farris to the Kentucky State University Board of Regents to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.
- Sara Elaine Farris, of Shelbyville is a retired school superintendent. The appointment replaces Phyllis M. Williams, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed J. Daniel Kemp to the Murray State University Board of Regents to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.
- J. Daniel Kemp is mayor of the City of Hopkinsville. The appointment replaces Marilyn R. Buchanon, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Terry L. Mann to the Northern Kentucky University Board of Regents to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.
- Terry L. Mann, of Fort Thomas, is chief executive officer at Kentucky Alternative Programs.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed J. David Porter to the Western Kentucky University Board of Regents to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.
- J. David Porter, of Lexington, is an attorney at Stites & Harbison.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees to serve for terms expiring June 30, 2020:
- Cammie DeShields Grant, of Winchester, is a retired educator and represents alumni. The appointment replaces Jo Hern Curris, whose term has expired.
- Robert D. Vance, of Maysville, is retired secretary of the Public Protection Cabinet. The appointment replaces Frank Shoop, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Edward Britt Brockman to the board to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.
- Edward Britt Brockman, of Louisville, is a physician at John Kenyon Eye Institute.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Craig Greenberg to the University of Louisville Board of Trustees to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020.
- Craig Greenberg, of Louisville, is president of 21c Museum Hotels. The appointment replaces Debbie Scoppechio, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020:
- Jonathan Scott Blue, of Louisville, is managing director at Blue Equity LLC.
- Brucie W. Moore, of Waverly, is Union County attorney.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Kentucky Authority for Educational Television to serve for terms expiring June 30, 2018:
- Angela D, Cain, of Walton, is a political consultant.
- Laura B. Ladd, of Lexington, is an interior designer.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Marcia L. Roth to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents to serve for a term expiring July 21, 2020.
- Marcia L. Roth, of Louisville, is executive director at the Mary Byron Project.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Charles B. Vinson to the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority Board of Directors and the Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corp. Board of Directors to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2018.
- Charles B. Vinson, of Murray, is retired. The appointment replaces Elaine Farris, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the board:
- Becky R. Lamb, of Prospect, is vice president of contracting at University of Louisville Physicians. Lamb shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2017.
- John C. Cheshire, of Lexington, is a portfolio manager with Dividend Assets Capital. Cheshire shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2017.
- Lisa A. Payne, of Louisville, is economic development team leader at LG&E and KU Energy LLC. Payne shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2018.
- J. Scott Wantland, of Shepherdsville, is an attorney at Wantland Law PLLC. Wantland shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2018.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Joshua Tunning as a member of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education to serve for a term expiring June 30, 2015.
- Joshua Tunning, of Newport, is a student at Northern Kentucky University and represents a student at a state institution of postsecondary education. The appointment replaces Glenn L. Means, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following as members of the Juvenile Justice Oversight Council, to serve for terms expiring Aug. 1, 2016:
- Paula L. Stafford, of Wellington, is an educator employed by the Rowan County Board of Education. She represents public schools or an education group or organization.
- Shara M. Parks, of Louisville, is a police lieutenant with the Louisville Metro Police Department. She represents law enforcement.
- Lisa P. Jones, of Owensboro, is a judge. She represents district judges.
- Steven R. Gold, of Henderson, is Henderson County attorney. He represents the County Attorneys Association.
- John O. Sivley, of Bowling Green, is a clinical social worker with LifeSkills. He represents community-based organizations, whether for-profit or nonprofit, with experience in programs for juveniles, including substance abuse prevention and treatment, case management, mental health or counseling.
