Family court judge appointed deputy secretary of health and family services

Frankfort, Ky. – Governor Matt Bevin & Cabinet for Health and Family Services Secretary Vickie Yates Brown Glisson today announced the appointment of Circuit Court Judge Timothy Edward Feeley as Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Judge Feeley is currently the Circuit Judge for the Family Court District 12, Division 2 serving Oldham, Henry and Trimble counties, a post he has held since March 2005.

“As a Family Court Judge, Tim Feeley has firsthand experience dealing with the variety of difficult matters that confront citizens across the Commonwealth,” said Gov. Bevin. “I have great confidence that Tim will provide empathetic solutions and tremendous insight into how we can better care for and serve Kentucky families and children.”

“For more than ten years I have been working with families in the 12thJudicial Circuit; I look forward to using that experience to help families and children statewide,” said Judge Feeley.

Prior to his service on the bench, Feeley was elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives, serving the citizens of the 59th legislative district from 1999-2005. He also managed a solo private legal practice from 1996-2005. From 1989-1996, Feeley was Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, responsible for handling all bankruptcy, collection and asset forfeiture cases on behalf of the federal government.

Feeley received a BS in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978 and earned a JD from West Virginia University in 1985. A Veteran, Feeley achieved the rank of Major in the U.S. Army and served four years as Judge Advocate General at Fort Knox, KY upon completion of his law degree.

Feeley has been married for 32 years to Dr. Sue Feeley, a dentist in private practice. They reside in Crestwood, Ky. and have three daughters and one son.
