LG&E and KU employees raised more then $1.7 million in 2014 for those in need

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 13, 2015) — Employees of LG&E and KU donated more than $1.7 million during the company’s 2014 annual giving campaign Power of One.

lge_ku_ppl_tag Funds will be allocated to 26 nonprofit organizations in all 120 counties in Kentucky, as well as parts of Indiana and Virginia.

Nearly 70 percent of LG&E and KU employees participate in the campaign through payroll deduction—more than twice the national average for employee participation in charitable giving, the company said.

Since 2005, the employee-driven campaign has raised nearly $17 million through payroll deductions, event fundraisers, direct-to-charity donations and support from the LG&E and KU Foundation.
