Top BMX riders to compete at Freedom Hall

Free event is Friday through Sunday

LOUISVILLE, KY (Feb. 3, 2015) — More than 1,000 amateur BMX riders from 30 states will ride into Louisville from Friday through Sunday for the USA BMX Bluegrass Nationals and President’s Cup in Freedom Hall.

BluegrassRacers from 2 to 70-years-old will jump dirt ramps and navigate obstacles on a 1,000-foot dirt track that features hills, banked turns, obstacles and jumps.

The President’s Cup features a state-versus-state competition, as the top three finishers from each state are tallied to select the winning state. All participants from the winning state will receive a custom jersey.

The Bluegrass Nationals is part of the national racing circuit, which features 30 races across the country.  The racers compete for national points throughout the whole year to earn a spot in the final competition in November.

Racing starts on Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m. The event is free for spectators. Parking at the Kentucky Exposition Center is $8 per vehicle.
