Barrel House Distilling Co.’s released bourbon barrel-aged rum

Oak Rum, a bourbon barrel-aged rum, was released last week by Barrel House Distilling Co. in Lexington.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 12, 2012) — Barrel House Distilling Co. released its Oak Rum last week.

Oak Rum is a bourbon barrel-aged rum that was born with the company in 2008 and was recently released to liquor stores, bars and restaurants.

Oak Rum is available in Kentucky and Illinois or online to most states via the company’s website. The rum is bottled at barrel proof with the first batch being at 105.2 proof. It is intended as a sipping rum, but also makes a great Old Fashion or Manhattan.

Oak Rum recently was awarded Best in Category at the American Distillers’ Institute Competition.

Barrel House will be selling the first 50 bottles, signed and numbered, from $50 to $200 at the distillery with a portion of the proceeds going to Horse Aid Live.
