PADUCAH, Ky. (April 18, 2012) – Leon Owens of Swift & Staley Mechanical Contractors has been elected as an officer for the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce.
Owens was elected to fill the unexpired term of Bill Mogan who recently resigned from the chamber board because of a career move out of town. Owens will serve as vice chair of education and workforce for the remainder of 2012. Owens already was serving on the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
Owens is the corporate development manager for Swift & Staley, where he has worked for seven years. Previously, he worked 15 years for USEC. He serves on the Federal Advisory Board for Radiation & Worker Health, which is a presidential appointment.
Owens has been involved in the Business Education Partnership, the Chamber’s trips to Washington, D.C., and numerous other volunteer activities in the community.
