Science and engineering firm SynTerra hires Scott Smith

LEXINGTON, Ky. —  SynTerra Corp., a science and engineering firm, has hired environmental consultant Scott Smith, who has many years of experience helping businesses and agencies comply with environmental regulations and health and safety regulations, including working with state and federal agencies.

“Scott has a deep knowledge of regulatory issues in multiple states. His experience in environmental permitting for industrial operations, landfills, and the energy sector will be invaluable for SynTerra and our clients,” said Steve Gardner, SynTerra vice president of special projects.

Smith he founded Smith Management Group and served as the chief of staff of the Kentucky Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet. He has developed environmental health and safety management systems, established energy reduction programs, performed compliance audits, and conducted soil and groundwater remediation.

Founded in 1993, SynTerra is an employee-owned firm of engineers, geologists, scientists and surveyors who help clients meet business objectives and address technical challenges.
