Bavarian Waste Services named to The Waste 100
WALTON, Ky. (June 30, 2015) — Bavarian Waste Services in Boone County has been ranked as one of the 100 largest waste and recycling firms in North America by Waste360, a leading information and services provider to the solid waste and recycling communities. Bavarian, a family owned and operated company, was named to The Waste 100 for the 10th time.
Bavarian provides waste disposal services at its Walton landfill. Through a partnership with East Kentucky Power Cooperative, Bavarian was the first landfill in Kentucky to produce energy from landfill gases. Bavarian’s landfill produces enough electricity to power the equivalent of 1,800 homes from the methane gas created by decomposing trash.
