LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 15, 2015) — UofL President James Ramsey should receive a 6 percent merit increase and a one-time supplement equal to 25 percent of his base salary, said the Board of Trustees Compensation Committee, which met Monday, to discuss the president’s performance and compensation.

The committee said Ramsey has been a “superstar” playing at “an all-star level.”

Following a presentation in which Ramsey noted that he and his leadership team had achieved 20 of 23 goals set by the board in 2014-15, the committee voted unanimously to recommend the raise and bonus.

Both recommendations will be presented to the full Board of Trustees at its annual retreat Friday in Prestonsburg.

Ramsey currently earns $329,740, according to the The Courier-Journal’s Government Salary Database.
