Robert Lakes recently was named director of Midway College's McKee campus.

MIDWAY, Ky. (May 2, 2012) — Robert Lakes has been named the new director of Midway College’s McKee campus.

Lakes has nearly three decades of experiences in working with students.

“We are thrilled to have Robert Lakes join our staff,” said said Dr. Johnnie Dean, vice president and dean of enrollment management.  “His enthusiasm and desire to help students succeed brings immediate benefits to the Midway College McKee Campus.”

The new director is educating the community about what Midway College has to offer the Jackson County area.  He will play a large role in helping the college continue to provide higher education opportunities to students throughout Kentucky, Dean said.

Lakes is a lifelong Jackson County resident. He retired from Jackson County Public Schools in 2006, where he taught business classes for 27 years and coached basketball, softball and baseball.  He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Eastern Kentucky University.
