Louisville, Ky. – Louisville took the No. 2 spot on USA Today’s list of “Best Local Food Scenes,” the publication announced today.

A panel of experts picked the initial 20 nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote.

The judges cite Proof on Main and Harvest restaurants, as well as chefs Edward Lee and Anthony Lamas, in their summary.

“In a city known for small-batch bourbon, it’s not surprising that the restaurant scene likewise revolves around local artisans,” they wrote.

Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn., nabbed the top spot. Louisville food beat out other cities noted for their unique culinary culture, including New Orleans, Charleston, S.C., and San Francisco.
