Owensboro Health awards over $700,000 in 38 minigrants

Owensboro, Ky. – Owensboro Health has awarded over $702,924 to 38 regional organizations.

To qualify for grant funding, non-profit organizations had to provide plans for specific programs and services that address identified community health needs. Funds were also available to non-profit entities that offer specific programs and activities not directly related to healthcare, but state how the organization’s services or activities address root causes of problems impacting community health. Eligible groups included economic, educational, civic, arts and cultural organizations.

Organizations seeking funds submitted letters of intent to determine if a good match existed between the proposed project, the Owensboro Health mission and the organization’s goal to improve the health of the communities we serve. If accepted, the organization was invited to submit a formal grant proposal.  Owensboro Health currently offers a single funding cycle with a grant application process that begins in the spring.
