Maysville, Ky. – Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) cosmetology program coordinator Megan Watson has been selected to participate as a stylist in the Miss America pageant. Watson will arrive in Atlantic City, N.J., on Sept. 8 for the preliminaries. The pageant will air September 13 on NBC.

Watson is one of only five hairstylists selected by Redken for the pageant. She has been recognized internationally for her skills and is a certified colorist by Redken.

““I know it’s going to be fast paced,”” Watson said. “We will have 10 minutes per contestant to get them polished and ready to go back on stage.””

Working with Redken has taken Watson all across the country, including multiple trips to New York City, Columbus, Ohio, and Las Vegas.

Beginning in January 2016, Watson will be training stylist at salons across Kentucky about Redken products and color.

In addition to coordinating the MCTC cosmetology program, Watson is the owner of Haute Roots Hair Salon in Flemingsburg where she resides with her husband and daughter.
