World Trade Center Kentucky honors businesses for international trade

Lexington, Ky. – Four businesses have been named a 2015 recipient of the Martha Lane Collins Award for Excellence in International Trade by the World Trade Center Kentucky.

The businesses were chosen for their accomplishments in international business and ability to successfully navigate global trade markets in order to positively benefit the state of Kentucky.

The award was presented by Former Governor Martha Layne Collins during the World Trade Day Kentucky 2015 in Louisville, which is the Commonwealth’s largest annual gathering of international trade professionals.This year’s recipients are as follows:

Named after the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s fifty-sixth Governor, this annual award distinguishes companies demonstrating outstanding success in international business. Former Governor Collins was instrumental in attracting numerous Japanese automotive makers and parts suppliers to Kentucky in the mid 1980’s.

The prestigious award was based on the company’s success through outstanding commitment to, and performance in international trade; evidence of executive management and organization-wide commitment to international business; uniqueness and creativity of international strategy/plan; and overall contributions to the local community through world trade. In addition to experiencing tremendous growth in Kentucky and other sites in the United States, export sales accounted for a significant portion of business growth.
