State Board of Elections certifies General Election vote totals

30.69% of registered voters cast ballots

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 17, 2015) — Today, the State Board of Elections certified vote totals from the Nov. 3 General Election and issued certificates of election to candidates who received the highest number of votes. Detailed results from the election are available at www.elect.ky.gov.

Approximately 982,000 Kentuckians—30.69 percent percent of registered voters—cast ballots in the General Election, said Alison Lundergan Grimes, Kentucky’s chief election official.

Grimes also reconvened the Election Integrity Task Force to wrap up its work on the 2015 General Election. Grimes has expanded the task force since taking office, and the State Board worked closely with other federal, state and local officials and agencies to monitor the election and ensure that voters’ rights were preserved.

Pursuant to Kentucky law, the Office of the Attorney General will randomly select six counties in which it will conduct a post-election audit. The drawing to select the counties that will be audited is scheduled for Nov. 19 at 10:30 a.m.
