Louisville, Ky. – Louisville Water’s chief engineer and vice president has been named the company’s interim president and CEO amid a national search for a new president.

Louisville’s Board of Water Works named Spencer Bruce the interim president yesterday. Bruce will replace outgoing president James Brammell, who announced he will be retiring on Jan. 1, 2016.

Bruce joined Louisville Water in 2006 and has held several positions with the company in managing distribution operations, plant management and engineering. He was named chief engineer and vice president in December 2013.

Current president Brammell announced his retirement last week while facing charges related to speeding and driving under the influence.
