Jackson MSC receives Governor’s Safety, Health Award

More than 666,220 hours worked without lost time accident, illness

GRAY, Ky. (May 17, 2012) – The Kentucky Labor Cabinet on Wednesday presented Jackson MSC LLC with the Governor’s Safety and Health Award that provides special recognition for outstanding safety and health performance, and encourages the development of programs designed to reduce and even eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses. The award is given to employers and their employees who together have achieved the required number of hours worked without experiencing a lost-time injury or illness.

Jackson, which employs more than 180 workers in Gray, Ky., is an example of employees and employers working together to create a safe work environment for all.

“Jackson has worked hard in the last several years to steadily reduce its incident rate and focused efforts on increasing awareness of environmental, health and safety issues,” said Mike Dixon, commissioner of the Labor Cabinet’s Department of Workplace Standards. “The Labor Cabinet commends the company and its employees for their proactive approach to safety.”

The Knox County facility produces commercial dishwashers for the food service industry.
