The hot brown puts Louisville on the top of Nat. Geo’s list of food cities

Louisville, Ky. – The hot brown, a decadent melange of toast, ham, tomatoes, Mornay sauce, bacon and tons of cheddar cheese, has put its hometown of Louisville at the top of the National Geographic’s list of Top 10 Food Cities.

Louisville and the hot brown beat out other food birthplaces, such as Buffalo (chicken wings), Cincinnati (three-way chili), Bologna, Italy (pasta Bolognese).

In describing the hot brown, National Geographic writes: “Hot Brown, an open-faced turkey sandwich on Texas toast with bacon, tomatoes, and a cream sauce, gives eaters plenty to get excited about, day or night.”
