Abramson to participate in ribbon-cutting ceremony at Asahi Bluegrass Forge Corp.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 5, 2012) — Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson will participate Wednesday in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. at Asahi Bluegrass Forge Corp. in Richmond, Ky.

The Japanese auto parts manufacturer is celebrating the opening of its second plant in Richmond. The new facility, located at 3007 Bill Robertson Way, will employ about 50 people with an average yearly wage of $40,000, according to Richmond City Manager Jimmy Howard, who also is executive director of the Richmond Industrial Development Corp.

Abramson will be joined by Howard; Richmond Mayor Jim Barnes; Shigemitsu Asahi, president of Asahi Forge Corp.; Mark Asahi, president of Asahi Bluegrass Forge Corp.; and Rodgers Clark, plant manger.

Asahi manufactures wheel-hub parts for automobiles, many of which go into Honda products.
