Jared Fogle, Subway and Chevrolet to kick off 2012 Bluegrass State Games

National Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle will help kick off the Bluegrass State Games.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 6, 2012) — The 2012 Bluegrass State Games season kickoff will be conducted on the runway of Blue Grass Airport on Sunday, June 10. The 2nd Sunday event is a partnership between the Bluegrass State Games, Get Healthy Kentucky and the Blue Grass Airport.

National Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle will be on hand to commemorate the BGSG kickoff and help the BGSG Torch Team light the cauldron to kick off the event which will begin with track and field on June 16-17 in Louisville. Fogle will be on hand throughout the day to sign autographs, take pictures and mingle with fans and participants.

The Kentucky Select Chevy dealers will also be on hand exhibiting some of their latest models, as the Official Vehicle of the Games. Attendees will get free gifts and an opportunity to sit in some of the most state-of-the art vehicles available today.

“The Games are an iconic Kentucky event that have always celebrated healthy active lifestyles for all Kentuckians and provided a venue for them to get out and compete,” said Terry Johnson, executive director of the Bluegrass Sports Commission. “We can think of no better way to kick off our 28th season than to partner with Get Healthy Kentucky and Second Sunday.
