LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 19, 2016) — Scott Herrmann has been named director of economic development for Louisville Metro Government, effective Oct. 31, Mayor Greg Fischer has announced.

Herrmann, a native of Evansville, Ind., was most recently director of marketing and business development for Waycross Partners, an independent investment management firm established in 2005. He previously was a vice president for JP Morgan Chase in Louisville since 2008 in roles that included advising local and state governments, healthcare and nonprofits on capital management strategies.

Herrmann has been an active community leader, as a member of the Rotary Club of Louisville, a graduate of Leadership Louisville’s Ignite and Focus programs, and as a founding member and chair of [give] 502, the city’s only young philanthropist giving circle. He’s also a board member for Home of the Innocents. In 2012, he was named among Business First’s Louisville Forty under 40.

“Scott is a bright, innovative leader who shows a lot of passion for this community and experience in business development,” said Fischer. “I’m confident he brings the skills necessary to help attract 21st Century jobs and hone our focus on the business sectors where our research tells us we can be best in world.”

Those sectors include: food and beverage, logistics and e-commerce, lifelong wellness and aging care, business services and advanced manufacturing.

Herrmann earned a Bachelor of Science in Business at Indiana University in Bloomington and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University Southeast.
