Peak 10 selects Louisville for major cloud cluster infrastructure expansion

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 13, 2012) – Peak 10 Inc., the only data center solutions company with rock solid people, rock solid solutions and rock solid results, has selected Louisville as the location of its fifth cloud cluster, a cutting-edge IT infrastructure model used in hosting and storing business-critical applications and data.

Earlier this year, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) announced that Peak 10 was one of five companies recently approved for economic development incentives. The KEDFA incentive will provide $250,000 to bolster Peak 10’s multi-million dollar investment, expanding capabilities for local businesses needing to outsource part or all of their IT infrastructure.

“We are thrilled to continue a strong relationship with Peak 10 as they grow their company and investment in Greater Louisville,” said Eileen Pickett, the executive vice president of Greater Louisville Inc. “Developing our technology companies is essential to a strong regional business network and Peak 10 is a fine example of what companies can achieve here.”

In addition to its Louisville operation, Peak 10 operates nine other technology campuses in the U.S., serving customers around the globe. The fast-growing company, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., will leverage the tax incentives for expansion at its Louisville technology campus.

“Companies that utilize cloud technology benefit from a more flexible data management solution that is often more cost effective compared to traditional infrastructure models,” said Matt Phillips, the vice president and general manager of Peak 10’s Louisville market. “Having this type of IT investment in our backyard will help attract businesses to Peak 10 and Louisville.”

Peak 10 has been executing and expanding its cloud computing strategy since 2007, launching virtualized environments that reduce power consumption and the physical space required to manage increasingly complex IT environments.

“Peak 10’s cloud infrastructure solutions continue to play a significant part in our exceptional customer retention and growth and have been at the core of our strategy to advance services that enhance our customers’ ability to scale and expand,” said David Jones, the president and CEO of Peak 10. “This addition to our cloud cluster infrastructure expands depth and breadth, serving not only the growing businesses in Louisville and Kentucky, but across our wide geographic presence.”
