Gov. Bevin makes appointments to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 20, 2016) — Gov. Matt Bevin has made appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions.

Kentucky Film Commission:

  • Branscombe Richmond, of Munfordville, is an actor. Richmond will serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
  • Kent Masterson Brown, of Lexington, is an attorney. Brown will serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
  • Roger Rehm Cowden, of Lexington, is an attorney. Cowden will serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2018.
  • Karen K. Lawrence, of Louisville, is self-employed. Lawrence is the mother of actress Jennifer Lawrence. She will serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
  • Merry-Kay Poe, of Louisville, is self-employed feature film developer. She will serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.

Office for the Blind State Rehabilitation Council:

  • Jennifer Jean Singleton, of Campbellsville, is an employment specialist at Phoenix Way, LLC. Singleton will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2018. She will represent Community Rehabilitation Program Service Providers.
  • John Michael Freeholm, of Russell, is a consultant at Sound Advice Advocates. Freeholm will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2018. He will represent the Statewide Independent Living Council.
  • David Isaac Boggs, of Frankfort, is the President/CEO of Opportunity Workshop of Lexington. Boggs will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2019. He will represent the Kentucky Workforce Investment Board.
  • Beverly H. Dickerson, of Louisville, is self-employed. Dickerson will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2019. She will represent Kentucky Licensed Blind Vendors.
  • Jennifer B. Hall, of Salem, is a childcare provider. Hall will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2019. She will represent the National Federation of the Blind of Kentucky.
  • Carla S. Ruschival, of Louisville, is retired. Ruschival will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2019. She will represent the American Council of the Blind.
  • Theresa Danielle Thomas, of Lexington, is the Executive Director of the Bluegrass Council of the Blind, Inc. Thomas will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2019. She will represent the Bluegrass Council of the Blind.
  • Shirley E. Stivers, of Dayton, is an office administrative employment specialist at Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission/SCSEP. Stivers will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2019. She will represent members at-large.
  • Nancy Clayton, of Hebron, is self-employed. Clayton will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2019. She will represent members at-large.

Board of Accountancy:

  • Theodore Joseph Funk, of Union, is a CPA. Funk will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020. He will represent Certified Public Accountants.
  • Albert Franklin Harris, of Mayfield, is a CPA. Harris will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020. He will represent Certified Public Accountants.
  • Toni Carver-Smith, of Louisville, is a financial and compliance strategist and treasurer at Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. Smith will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2020. She will represent citizens at-large.

Lottery Corporation Board of Directors:

  • William M. Schult, of Edgewood, is vice president and CFO of Pro Mach, Inc. Schult will serve for a term expiring Nov. 28, 2019.

Center for School Safety Board of Directors:

  • Susan Renee Brewer, of Barbourville, is a special education teacher. Brewer will serve for a term expiring July 27, 2018. She will represent teachers.
  • Kevin Carter Stewart, of Bronston, is a pastor. Stewart will serve for a term expiring July 27, 2018. He will represent school council parents.
  • Lisa Payne Jones, of Owensboro, is a judge. Judge Jones will serve for a term expiring July 27, 2018. She will represent juvenile court judges.
  • Timothy Leon Jessie, of Edmonton, is an energy manager at Metcalfe County Board of Education. Jessie will serve for a term expiring July 27, 2018. He will represent classified school employees.
  • Derek Heath Preston, of Louisa, is self-employed. Preston will serve for a term expiring July 27, 2018. He will represent local school district boards of education.
  • James Douglas Frank, of Greensburg, is a school superintendent. Frank will serve for a term expiring July 27, 2018. He will represent superintendents.
  • Dale Allen McDowell, of Maysville, is an elementary school principal. McDowell will serve for a term expiring July 27, 2018. He will represent local school administrators.

Kentucky Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education:

  • Troy William Kolb, of Louisville, is a middle school principal. Kolb will serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2018. He will represent principals.
  • Deidra Hyde Patton, of Ashland, is a teacher. Patton will serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2018. She will represent teachers of gifted and talented students.
  • Sharon Renee Mofield-Boswell, of Lexington, is a pre-school teacher and childcare worker. Mofield-Boswell will serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2018. She will represent parents.
  • Angela Montgomery Lindsey, of Owensboro, is a teacher. Lindsey will serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2018. She will represent elementary teachers.
  • John Taylor Thompson, of Georgetown, is a professor at Georgetown College. Thompson will serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2018. He will represent postsecondary education institutions.
  • Jennifer Kilijian Moss, of Hopkinsville, is Director of Water and Wastewater at Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority. Moss will serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2018. She will represent parents.
  • Carla Tipton Pleasant, of Lexington, is a gifted and talented program facilitator at the School for Creative and Performing Arts (SCAPA). Pleasant will serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2018. She will represent visual and performing arts.
  • Genevieve Campbell Jenkins, of Morehead, is a gifted and talented teacher and coordinator. Jenkins will serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2018. She will represent coordinators of gifted and talented programs and services.
  • Lynette Breedlove, of Bowling Green, is an educational administrator at Western Kentucky University’s Gatton Academy. Breedlove will serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2019. She will represent parents.
  • Janet Leigh Meeks, of Custer, is a school superintendent. Meeks will serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2019. She will represent superintendents.
  • Michael Edwin Marshall, of Georgetown, is a teacher. Marshall will serve for a term expiring Dec. 15, 2019. He will represent high school teachers.
