FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 21, 2016) – L. Christopher Hunt has been named the new General Counsel for the state Auditor’s office, Auditor Mike Harmon announced Wednesday. Hunt replaces Sara Beth Gregory in that position following her promotion to Chief of Staff for the Auditor’s office.

“I’m pleased that Chris will be joining our executive staff in the beginning of 2017. His desire to become a public servant, coupled with his educational and legal background, will be valuable assets to us as we continue our role in weeding out waste, fraud and abuse,” said Auditor Harmon.

Prior to his appointment, Hunt operated his own law firm, Hunt Law Firm, PLLC, and has eight years of experience in private practice handling a variety of legal matters. A native of Ohio County, Hunt is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science magna cum laude, and received his Juris Doctor from UK in 2008. He graduated from Ohio County High School in 2001.

Chris is a member of the Ohio County Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, and the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies. Chris has served as director and president of the Ohio County Chamber of Commerce, and is also an Eagle Scout.
