LM Communications to purchase Louisville TV station

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 15, 2012) — LM Communications, which has six radio stations in Lexington, announced it has agreed to buy a Louisville television station, WBKI-TV, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported.

Pending FCC approval of the deal, LM Communications will begin operating under a marketing agreement with the current owner, Louisville TV Licenses.

“I believe WBKI has tremendous unrealized potential and I plan to explore and utilize all opportunities available to me to elevate WBKI into a much stronger TV station that it’s traditionally been,” said Lynn Martin, owner of LM Communications.

LM Communications’ Lexington radio stations include 107.9 The Beat, 96.9 Kiss FM, Sports Radio 1300 AM, B92 Classic Hits, Hank 96.1, and 106.3 WCDA. The company also owns stations in Charleston, S.C., and Charleston, W.Va.
