EKU Center for the Arts director may have resigned, paper reports

Director Debbie Hoskins helped guide the EKU Center for the Arts through its first season. Her future at the center is up in the air. Her name and title have been removed from the center's website.

RICHMOND, Ky. (June 18, 2012) — The director who guided Eastern Kentucky University’s Center for the Arts through its first season is no longer listed as director on the center’s website, and appears to have left the position, reports The Richmond Register.

As of Saturday morning, Debra Hoskins’ name and title was no longer listed at www.ekucenter.com.

EKU officials would not confirm or deny reports of Hoskins’ departure, but told the Register a statement on her status would be issued Saturday. So far, a statement has not been made available.

Marc Whitt, associate vice president for public relations at EKU, told The Lane Report today that a statement has not been issued.

“Nothing yet has been confirmed,” he said.

The center closed its first season on June 5 with a concert by tribute groups for the Coasters, the Drifters and the Platters. An announcement of the second season’s line-up is expected soon, the paper said.

A concert by world-renown cellist Yo Yo Ma on March 20 was announced earlier this year.
