Gov. Bevin makes appointment to Commonwealth of Kentucky Personnel Board

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 23, 2017) — Gov. Matt Bevin today appointed Catherine J. Monteiro, of Louisville, to the Commonwealth of Kentucky Personnel Board.

Monteiro earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Coastal Carolina University and worked more than a decade in human resources and talent recruitment for companies such as PrideStaff, SHPS, Inc., and Papa John’s Pizza.

She currently serves in numerous volunteer capacities, including refugee family mentor through Gate of Hope Ministries, respite host with Orphan Care Alliance, and student leader at Southeast Christian Church.

The Kentucky Personnel Board promotes merit principles in government service and the improvement of personnel standards in the state service. The Board hears the appeals of classified employees and other employees who believe they have been penalized without cause. It has the authority to conduct investigations of merit system violations and to promulgate administrative regulations concerning the state personnel system.
