JAHSA consists of the national council, seven state councils and 70 district councils, and more than 5,125 local chapters. More than 450,000 employees of mining and associated industries represented by JAHSA strive to meet the goal of the JAHSA mission statement: “Promote effective management of safety in mining and associated industries by providing a forum of government, industry, and labor to develop solutions through communications, education, and recognition of safety excellence.”

Vicini served as president of the Holmes National Mine Rescue Association for the past three years, ending his term this year. He’s known across the country in the mine rescue community for his dedication and commitment to promoting mine rescue, improving the training and quality of mine rescue teams, and fostering a culture of mine rescue safety and training.

He’s served as both a team member and trainer for mine rescue committees and boards across the country, and has been involved in numerous rescue and recovery efforts across a long career.
