FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 13, 2017) — Brandon Brown of Ashland has been named the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) outreach counselor for 11 counties in Eastern Kentucky.
Brown will work in Breathitt, Elliott, Floyd, Johnson, Knott, Lawrence, Magoffin, Martin, Morgan, Pike and Wolfe counties.
In addition to schools, Brown will work with adult education centers, state agencies and other groups.
Brown, a graduate of Russell High School and Asbury University, was most recently the assistant director of financial aid for Ashland Community and Technical College. He and his wife, Melissa, have a 6-year-old daughter, Bailey.

KHEAA administers the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES), need-based grants and other programs to help students pay their higher education expenses.
