Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky Workforce Innovation board

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 27, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin today made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

James Higdon, Jim DeCesare, Mike Buchanon, Thomas Watson, Hal Heiner, Aaron Thompson, Terry Sexton, Scott Pierce, Bernard Miles, Amy Luttrell, David Boggs, Kim Menke, Carla Webster, Chris Reinersman, Peter Feil, Heidi Margulis, Adam Hinton, Rob Southard, Patrick Murphy, Hugh Haydon, Danette Wilder, Torsten Langguth and Kevin Smith have been appointed to the Kentucky Workforce Innovation board (KWIB).

• James Higdon, Kentucky State Senator, will represent the State Legislature and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2019. 
• Jim DeCesare, Kentucky State Representative, will represent the State Legislature and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2019.
• Mike Buchanon, Warren County Judge-Executive, will represent chief elected officials and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2019.
• Thomas Watson, City of Owensboro Mayor, will represent chief elected officials and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2019.
• Hal Heiner, Education and Workforce Development Cabinet Secretary, will represent state officials and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2019.
• Aaron Thompson, Council on Postsecondary Education Executive Vice President, will represent state officials and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2019.
• Terry Sexton, with Boilermakers Local 105, will represent workforce and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2019.
• Scott Pierce, with Operating Engineers Local 181, will represent workforce and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2019.
• Bernard Miles, with Electrical Workers Local 761, will represent workforce and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2019.
• Amy Luttrell, with Goodwill Industries International, will represent workforce and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2019.
• David Boggs, with Opportunity for Work & Learning, will represent workforce and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2019.
• Kim Menke, with Toyota, will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
• Clara Webster, with Xerox, will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
• Chris Reinersman, with DHL, will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
• Peter Feil, with Stober Drives, will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
• Heidi Margulis, with Humana, will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
• Adam Hinton, with Hinton Mills, will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
• Rob Southard, with Southern Star Gas, will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
• Patrick Murphy, with United Parcel Service, will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
• Hugh Haydon, with Kentucky Bioprocessing, will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020. He will serve as KWIB chairman.
• Danette Wilder, with SealingLife Technology, will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
• Torsten Langguth, with Dr. Schneider Automotive, will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.
• Kevin Smith, with Beam Suntory (Jim Beam Brands), will represent businesses and serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2020.

The Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board serves as an advisory board to the Governor on workforce training and development issues. The KWIB is charged with creating a statewide vision for workforce development and adopting a plan to move Kentucky forward through workforce training and development.
