United Bank & Capital Trust Company hires VPs for Lawrenceburg and Versailles offices

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 14, 2018) – United Bank & Capital Trust Company has hired Berry L. Popp as vice president for its Lawrenceburg (Main Street) office as a commercial lender.

Popp began his 28-year banking career in Frankfort where he was born and raised. He graduated from Midway College with a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and from the Kentucky Bankers Association General Banking School. He sits on the board of directors for the Central Kentucky Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is a member of the Shriner’s Hospital for Children’s Corporate Council.

“Having known about United Bank and its storied history as a community bank that focused on working with local business and being community minded, I felt like this was a good place to come and work,” Popp said. “I enjoy getting to know my customers and learning about their businesses. I look forward to doing that in Lawrenceburg.”

United Bank has two branches in Lawrenceburg.

Justin Carroll hired as VP in Versailles

United Bank & Capital Trust Company has hired Justin Carroll as vice president and will join the Versailles (100 United Drive) office as a commercial lender.

Carroll, a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and Woodford County High School, has been in the banking industry since 2011.  The majority of that time was spent at Kentucky Bank.

Carroll, who was born and raised in Versailles, will be working in the community that he knows and has deep roots in.

“My dad has been in business in Versailles since 1981 and my mom has been at the Woodford Sun since 1996,” Carroll said. “My wife is a third grade teacher at Southside Elementary here in Versailles. I’m very passionate about this community and I am looking forward to representing United Bank within it.”
