GEORGETOWN, Ky. (March 28, 2018) LifePoint Health, a leading healthcare company, recently awarded Georgetown Community Hospital with its 2017 companywide High Five Award for demonstrating excellence in healthcare delivery. This is the highest honor a LifePoint hospital can receive.

The High Five Award is given annually to two finalists and one companywide winner within LifePoint’s network of more than 70 hospitals and recognizes extraordinary achievements in fulfilling the company’s High Five Guiding Principles:

  • Delivering high quality patient care;
  • Supporting physicians;
  • Creating excellent workplaces for our employees;
  • Taking a leadership role in our communities; and
  • Ensuring fiscal responsibility.

These five core guiding principles directly impact the company’s actions and decision making and have defined what communities can expect from LifePoint facilities as healthcare partners since the company was founded in 1999.

“We are thrilled that Georgetown Community Hospital has received this prestigious recognition, and I commend our team for the exemplary work they do every day to make our community healthier,” said William Haugh, chief executive officer of GCH. “Ensuring that every decision we make is first evaluated through the lens of our High Five Guiding Principles has been as essential part of our team’s success. I want to thank our employees, physicians, volunteers and board members for their ongoing commitment to upholding – and truly living out – these important values.”

Georgetown experienced a remarkable year in 2017, including achieving designation as a Duke LifePoint Quality Affiliate for implementing a number of initiatives to enhance quality and improve patient safety.

“I am so proud to honor the talented team from Georgetown Community Hospital as LifePoint’s 2017 companywide High Five Award winner,” said Scott Raplee, president of LifePoint’s Central Group, of which GCH is a part. “Georgetown’s success in enhancing quality and patient safety and achieving operational excellence is supported by a strong foundation of exceptional talent, which sets this facility apart. They are undisputed leaders within LifePoint, and we are proud to recognize their hard work with this award.”

The award was accepted by GCH’s leadership team on behalf of the entire hospital staff at LifePoint’s annual hospital leadership meeting in Nashville, Tenn.
