Murray State to co-host security conference with Community Financial Services Bank

MURRAY, Ky. (April 18, 2018) — The Center for Telecommunications Systems Management at Murray State University will co-host the annual Patterns of Distinction – Security Matters Conference on April 26 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Curris Center, highlighting the importance of security in small businesses. The conference is co-hosted with Community Financial Services Bank.

Keynote speakers at the conference include: Drew Perry, manager of IT governance, risk and compliance at Valvoline; Zachary Smith, intelligence analyst for the FBI; and Joshua Jacobs, president at Sawyers and Jacobs. They will be discussing business identity theft, protection against cybercrime and cyberattacks against small businesses.

The 12th annual TSM Awards Luncheon, sponsored by DEVsource, will also be held during the conference. The luncheon speaker this year is Lana Porter, founder and CEO of L&M Enterprises. Awards will be presented to industry professionals, entrepreneurs, alumni, faculty and staff. The awards include the John Williams Entrepreneurship Award, Dick Anderson Leadership Award, Dr. Gene Wells Ray Lifetime Achievement Award, Gary Brockway Faculty/Staff Excellence Award, TSM Distinguished Alumni Award and an unveiling of a new technology award.

The telecommunications systems management program is the award-winning Program of Distinction at Murray State University.
